    Foundation

    Claude Code installed, Anthropic key, one project folder. We also connect to Chartmetric and Viberate (both have MCP-friendly APIs) so your agent can pull live signal during scouting. 45 minutes. Skipping this step means everything later runs in a tab instead of on your own machine.

    Stack inventory

    A&Rs run on 6 to 12 tools (Chartmetric, Viberate, Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists, TikTok creative center, label CRM, scouting spreadsheet, A&R email, plus 2 to 3 platform-specific dashboards). We map them and rank by hours bleeding. That ranked list tells you which scout agent to build first.

    Catalog reconciliation and valuation

    Deal modeling for a catalog acquisition or an artist signing is the same skill: estimate forward revenue, discount, compare to ask. We use CatalogIQ plus a Claude valuation prompt to model deals in 15 minutes that used to require an outside finance consultant. Beatdapp fraud flags feed in so you don't pay for inflated streams.

    A&R signals from socials and DSPs

    This is the core module of the route. We build a scout agent that reads Chartmetric MCP plus Viberate plus your TikTok and Reels saves, filters by your genre and territory rules, and DMs a ranked 5-artist digest to your Slack every Monday at 8am. Bruce runs the regional Mexican version of this for DSTRO7. It surfaces 1 signable artist every 6 to 8 weeks.

  5. 10

    MCP fundamentals

    Module 7's scout agent is built on top of MCP. Module 10 teaches you the protocol cleanly so you can build the next 3 agents yourself: a sync opportunity scout, a touring market scout, a brand partnership scout. Same shape, different signal. 40 lines of TypeScript walked through line by line.
